Adding Illumina to Jubak Picks on today’s pullback

Shares of Illumina (ILMN) dropped 8.44% today, September 16, on reports by both Reuters and Bloomberg that the genetic sequencing marketing leader is in talks to acquire Grail, a still private startup focused on blood tests for the early detection of cancer. I think it is the potential purchase price--$8 billion--that has stuck in investors' […]

Adding West Pharmaceutical Services to Jubak Picks Portfolio on rotation back to momentum winners

What a difference 72 hours can make. Just a few days ago I was looking to find consumer/cyclical/"re-opening dependent" shares as the stock market looked to be rotating away from recent technology and momentum leaders and toward beaten down shares that would climb with a new coronavirus rescue package and a stabilization of the re-opening […]

Wall Street is expecting impressive growth in online sales revenue. But after yesterdays report of a slowdown in cloud services revenue at Microsoft, […]

Nidec is my fourth pick for my Special Report: 10 Global Warming Stock Picks

I can't imagine the world avoiding a global warming catastrophe without a sizable contribution from reduced carbon emissions as we replace vehicles powered by fossil fuels with electric vehicles. (Yes, this is to some extent a solution that merely pushes the problem back one layer if the  the electricity for those vehicles isn't produced from […]

Saturday Night Quarterback (Part 1) says, For the week ahead expect…

...a big bang from Apple’s (AAPL) World Wide Developers Conference on Monday, June 22, even though the event will go virtual this year. The conference is Apple's big reveal on devices and operating systems to the independent developers who write the programs and apps that make or break new products. No available neat apps for […]
