Now that EuroZone finance ministers have finally approved the next payout to Greece, it looks like the Greek crisis is about to be replaced by the French crisis with an Italian crisis just offstage—and a renewal of the Greek crisis quite possible this summer.

Yesterday French President Francois Hollande announced that his country would miss its promise to reduce its budget deficit to 3% of GDP in 2013. The deficit, Hollande said, would probably come in at 3.7%.

Continued signs today that the French and German economies are headed in opposing directions. The core of the EuroZone looks to be split with France now looking much more like Spain and Italy than like Germany.
