Tomorrow morning we’ll see if Trump said enough about the subjects near and dear to Wall Street’s heart–less regulation of the financial sector and lower corporate taxes–to keep the post-Trump-victory rally going. Odds from the Fed funds futures market are now pricing in a 63% chance of a May 3 increase in interest rates from the Federal Reserve. At the beginning of February odds of a May increase were just 49%. Odds are 38% for a move on March 15 and 75% for a June 14 increase.

Inflation, as measured by the Consumer Price Index, rose in January by a larger than forecast 0.6%. That’s a pickup from the 0.3% rise in December and brings the 12-month inflation rate to 2.5%, the highest since March 2012.

DR Horton led home building stocks higher, rising 5.43% as of 1 p.m. New York time, after showing a 31% jump in net income in earnings reported this morning before the market opened. The company also guided Wall Street to expect a strong selling season this spring.

Both the headline CPI and the Core CPI are now above the Federal Reserve’s inflation target of 2%. The year-over-year increase in the headline CPI now shows the largest 12-month increase since the period that ended in June 2014.
